#13 I think Im going to be sick!

Last weekend we made our way to Cajamarca where we would be having our spanish district convention.  We took this road once when we first arrived but for some reason it didnt seem so bad as our most recent voyage, probably having to do with the fact that this time we were in a very large bus with only the small side window to look out.  The road was high, narrow, and very curvy.  I will admit bravely that there were a few times I really thought I was going to lose it, however the fact that the windows didnt open and my headache due to the fact that we were going from 7,000ft to 11,000ft was getting worse both proved distraction enough to keep it all inside for the entire 4hrs.  Alas we made it! To the left you will see kirk enjoying a very extravegant breakfast which included the local tamal...it was delicious!

Because the location is so far away the brothers arranged for host families.  Ours was great! We included a lovely picture of them down below.  The wife insisted on making all our meals even hot ones for lunch during the assembly, finally we got our hands on some good clean authentic peruvian food and it was delicious!
Kirk had security duty during the assembly so I included a handsom picture of him in his orange vest.  Also is a picture of 15 of us from our hall on squished into a van on our way home. We had 2,700 on sunday and 33 baptized including an 11yr old sister from our hall.  This young sister has 4 older siblings who are reg. pioneers including 13yr old twins who just finished their first year.  Unfortanetly they werent able to go to the school without an adult from there family to accompany them since the school is 4 hrs away.  We also had a 12yr old sister join the ranks just a  month ago!  We now have a grand total of 22 which is half of the congregation!  We are hoping since there are so many that now we might be able to work a lot of the unassigned territory that borders us.

All of our studies are progressing well.  The new brocure we got at the assembly is worth its weight in gold!  We spend about 10 min. at the end of the study reviewing it and I can already tell that its going to be easier to get them to the meeting because of it.  I have one study who is 91yrs old!  She's smarter than most 20yr olds and loves what she's learning.  She even remembers most things.  We study from the listen to god brocure that has all the illustrations made for people who cant read.  Yesturday she was asking me about the meetings and I told she needed to come with us sometime so she can see for herself and to my surprise she said ok!  Next week I'm going to try and arrange for us to pick her up before the meeting.

Not too long ago we had a camp fire in the back yard and made hotdogs.  One of the elders from our hall loves to tell stories and experiences so most of the night we sat around listening to him talk the friends here really loved it since it was a new experience for them and really encouraging as well to hear everyone tell how they came into the truth.

We hope all is well and look forward to hearing from all of you,
with love,
kirk and kelly
