Oh how time is flying!
So things of lately have been quite eventfull and though the weather much like in the states right now has been hot the nice tropical breezes and rain have finally arrived bringing with it greener pastures, brighter flowers, cooler nights and refreshing downpours..(when your not caught standing in it of course).
The month of June was started with a bang (a good bang) brought on by the visit of our circuit overseer and his wife. The island being what it is...an island isnt much condusive to circuit overseer visits at least not if they want to go back and forth everyday, so fun for us but maybe not so fun for them they get to stay on the island the entire week. This allows for much hospitality on behalf of the friends to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner every day that they're with us. We enjoyed this since we could spoil them with some of the american cuisine (they're from colorado) that maybe they were missing so much. Odly enough we fed them mostly thai food, not very american at all. They liked it.
Soon after their return home they came back for the curcuit assembly where apon they stayed at the best b&b in town...the kingdom hall. :) Not many circuit overseers think that when they get started in this wonderfull work that one day they'll end up sleeping on a mattress in the second school of a Kingdom Hall but as the brother and his wife pointed out to us "it was by far better than most of the places they've stayed". The assembly was of special excitement because several of the brothers had spent the previous couple of weeks building a small but deep baptism pool in our very own backyard, lined with tile and everything! I know what your thinking, "any excuse to have a dipping pool in the backyard right", well if you must know we did try it out but soley for scientific purposes of course. Its beautifull and the friends were soooo excited to be able to watch the baptism since normally its held down at the lake which only a few if any at all were ever able to go and observe. All 400 crowded around to watch as 3 from the island were baptized, 1 from our own hall.

We are currently in Rivas and while kirk is enjoying the long hours of critical thinking and studying that acompanies pioneer school, Im enjoying a little r&r. Travel back and forth to the island from the class wasnt possible so a young brother (currently in the states) kindly offered kirk his cool and comfortable apartment, logically any one who knows Im not much for doing things without kirk would know that I followed him. Of course I didnt want to seem like a sad puppy dog trying to follow him where I myself couldnt not go, that being the class, so I went as far as I could, the apartment, under the pretense of course that Im there to cook his breakfast and dinner when we all know that Im mostly sulking and using the occasion to catch up on some reading.
Well, that is where we sit for the time being. Our calender is already filling up. In just a few weeks we'll be heading to costa rica with ben and sandra to renew our passports and then we have the spanish district convention the end of september in granada with the english one the weekend after in Managua.
We miss home and think of our friends and family's everyday and as will always be the case we look forward to seeing everybody...soon.
love kirk and kells
