Sorry its been a while since our last entry, we’ve been pretty busy. Just a few weeks ago we spent some time with our friends in Costa Rica. We had to cross the border to renew our passports so we decided to make a little vacation out of it, not a hard decision when you have friends that live on a beautiful beach. We were there for about 10 days. They were in Tamarindo as some of you already know and have been there. There is one English congregation that currently had around 12 publishers when we visited, and they have their work cut out for them. The territory is enormous and gets done mostly by driving and census. We were sad to have to leave but 3 months goes by faast then we’ll have to renew again.

We’ve been covering the territory really fast around here about once a month! It took us awhile to get used to re-working the territory about as frequently as some people make their return visits but after a while its nice approaching people you already know by first name. Surprisingly there’s still tremendous growth and interest. Just the other day I had a wonderful conversation with the lady that sells us our chicken, (we were working our business territory) she works there all day everyday so of course she’s never home when we go to her house. She had so many questions about the bible and is so excited to have us come back to talk to her while she’s at work.

We also have a rural territory that we try to work about every 2 months. Last Tuesday we met at the hall at 7:30 am and a local brother took everybody that showed up to the territory in his giant van, not like a regular van, there were 17 of us in it! It was encouraging to see how many people took the day off work to be out with the group, and all ages from 12 to 68. You’ve never seen such a loud happy rambunctious group of people ready to preach. It took about 30 min. to get to the territory whereupon we all got out on a little side street and had our meeting for field service and the group arrangement. This fell on Kirks day to take out the group and trust me when I say it was a challenge directing 17 people in a territory he hadn’t worked yet, needless to say he was exhausted by the end of the day, successful however considering we didn’t lose anybody. At noon everyone got out there packed lunches and we sat out at the beach for a nice hour. The neighbors were kind enough to provide the seats. It was a really nice time to talk about the experiences from the morning and to visit with each other. Then we packed up and headed out again until 4. An announcement was made at the meeting 2 days earlier and everybody hade arranged to contribute 1 dollar per person for their roundtrip transportation provided by the brother. He uses the van for tourism and thus took the day off so that we could all go out. Everyone was happy to contribute of course. All in all the day was successful.

We’re getting excited for our english convention next weekend in Granada, even though we already went in Spanish back in may, it feels like ages ago. We know having it again in our own language this time will renew us and fill us up with the zeal we need. Feel free to check out previous blogs by clicking down below. Also check out our living quarters plus more pictures by clicking on the slide show to the left.
Thanks to everyone for they’re encouraging emails we really thrive off them. With much love kirk and kelly.
